A Marvellous March

March slowly slipped in, bringing subtle rain and a cool breeze. The feeble shafts of sunlight bear through the glass panes, and elegantly drape my books and furniture. Golden light basks the wooden chairs and tables, creeping gently up my plants. A cold gust of wind passes me by, snaking through the corners of the living room. A book is most welcome to this type of weather, and is most often referred to as the best companion.

March brought with it many agendas, but unlike February, it was quite easy-going. The slow days of March: the quiet evenings, the warm steam curling above my milk tea, the furnitures shrouded in golden rays of light, and my books coated with a sliver of moonlight, all meld into a serene environment. February slipped by quickly, filling itself with competitions, agendas, and examinations.

On the contrary, March brought with it peace and an unhurried fashion of doing things that enlightened my dampened spirit. After February, exhaustion took control of my soul, and I rarely got time to spend with myself. The last week of February fell out of my grasp because of its speed.

March itself did not have a lot of agendas, except for one birthday invitation which I kindly had to accept. Social gatherings were never, and will never ever be my cup of tea. I "detest" (now that is a strong word) crowds of people, and most importantly joining conversations. With great difficulty, my voice managed to stitch out words, without even a shadow of shyness lingering around them. Chuckles and music took away time, and at the end of the day, I was very joyous to find myself(in one piece) on my bed.

At around mid-March, the weather took an unexpected turn. Strong rays of sunlight, beads of perspiration dotted on foreheads, and the desire for cold water converted itself. It was replaced with cool gentle breeze slithering past verandas, the steam of a warm tea dancing like a genie, and a throbbing rain drenching the winding streets of Dhaka.

I decided to pen down my thoughts, at the arrival of such pleasant weather. Weather acts as the best motivator, and it certainly did right now!
